Softball is my favorite sport, and the one I will probably talk the most about. Softball has been my life for the past seven years. I don't know who I would be without it. Softball has made me a better person. Throughout my softball career, I have played on nine teams. Two years ago, was my first year of travel. I was so excited when I got the call to be on my first team. Before that, I was playing rec and creating so many friends. We won a few trophies and got county runner-up three years in a row. I was the only pitcher for my team, so I pitched every inning or every game, including the tournament where we played at least five games. I had some good competition in rec but I wasn't improving because I was one of the best on the team. Then in travel, I was one of the starting pitchers. Softball has been a great experience for me and I am glad I get to share the love of the game with friends and my dad.
Swimming is one of my other favorite sports. I swam in the past at Martinsville for three years and then I decided to stop when softball was getting really busy. I just started to pick it back up this year. I didn't get to compete much this year because of my concussion, but I plan on swimming in the future.
Another sport I like is volleyball. I just started loving volleyball this year. my cousin got a scholarship to Midway University down in Kentucky. She has worked with me on serving and setting in the past and I hope to develop more skills so I can play in high school. Volleyball is also fun to watch. I went to a Purdue volleyball game when my brother, dad, and I went up there for Homecoming. Volleyball has become a sport that I love. Every day in gym, when I finish my bellwork, Kiana and I are always playing volleyball.
Another love of mine is football. Football is one of my connections with my dad. According to my mom, which I agree with this, I can have interesting conversations and good conversations with people about football. I love football season. I love getting to watch my team win and score touchdowns. My favorite NFL teams are the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and the Indianapolis Colts. My favorite college teams are the Purdue Boilermakers and Michigan Wolverines. Football is a passion of mine. I can't wait until Thursday, September 7th, when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the awful, dreaded New England Patriots, or as I like to call them, the Deflatriots. Still, football has been a huge part of my life and it brings me closer to my dad.
Another sport is soccer. I love soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was three. I haven't played in a while, but I would love to start to play again. In soccer, I usually play goalie or forward. Goalie is probably my favorite position because I am really good at keeping the other team from scoring. I also have really good hand-eye coordination. That is why all of my coaches has put me at goalie. In the winter, I play in a indoor soccer league. In soccer, the guys can't be rough with the girls but the girls can be rough with them. When we were in a game, I was playing forward. During the game, I took out four boys in a span of fifteen minutes. When I took the last one out, I hockey-checked him into the wall and it made this loud BOOM. It was awesome and they couldn't do it back. So, throughout the league I got the reputation of taking out people in games. I was known as The Bulldozer.
One last sport I love is basketball. I like college basketball more than the NBA. The NBA isn't as entertaining. College basketball has a different vibe to it. My favorite basketball team is the Purdue Boilermakers. You can probably tell I am a die-hard Purdue fan. Purdue was number one overall in the Big Ten conference and finished their season 27-8, which is way better than their rivals, Indiana Hoosiers which finished off 18-16. Basketball is a sport I used to play and I loved it. Now I love watching basketball and cheering on my Boilermakers to victory.
