One of my defining moments is when my stepdad took me to my first Purdue game. This was one of the best days in my life. My stepdad is the father figure I have always been lacking. My biological father has rarely been around and only comes around when there is something in it for him. When my dad told me that we were going to a Purdue basketball game, I was stoked. It was the best thing ever, I thought. He was the one to turn me from my IU phase to my Purdue lifestyle. We share the love of sports and Purdue. He is the one that I can sit down with and have a nice conversation about sports. He is the one that I can go to for anything and he is my biggest fan. He and I share a bond that is unbreakable. He is the one who showed me how to live my life as a Christian and a leader on the field and I am thankful for that.
My next defining moment is when I went to my first softball practice. I was seven years old when I started playing. My stepdad was the one who introduced me to softball. I started loving the game because he loved the game. I always used to go watch him play when I was younger and that is what sparked my love for the game. Now I am playing travel softball for the Indiana Astros and helping out with the younger teams. This past summer, my old team before the Astros, placed second in our state tournament. I was pitching and it was really close. We were all tired after playing eight games straight in 100 degree weather. Even after that long weekend, my love for the game grew more. This year, the organization put on a Hit-a-Thon. The team I was on placed first and in our first outdoor tournament we placed second. Softball is my passion and I am glad it was introduced into my life.
Another defining moment is being a twin. Being a twin is something really special. This is my twin brother, Thomas. Thomas is Greek for twin, which is kind of ironic. Thomas is the one of the only people who can bring out the best and the worst of me. He and I would die for each other. He and I are usually, 95% of the time, bickering. Even though we bicker we will always have each other's backs.
